These instruments are built in conformity with the construction and safety specifications of EN 837-1/S3 e ASME B40.1. In case of leaks or break of the elastic element, the operator is protected by a solid separating wall placed on the front of the instrument and by the blow out back. The Series A3000 Photohelic® Switch/Gages function as versatile, highly repeatable pressure switches combined with a precise pressure gage employing the time-proven Magnehelic® gage design. The Photohelic® switch/gage measures and controls positive, negative or differential pressures of air and compatible gases. Standard models are rated to 25 psig (1.7 bar) with options to 35 (2.4) or 80 (5.5 bar) psig. Two phototransistor actuated, DPDT relays are included for low/high limit control. Easy to adjust set point indicators are controlled by knobs located on the gage face. Individual set point deadband is one pointer width – less than 1% of full scale. Set points can be interlocked to provide variable deadband – ideal for control of fans, dampers, etc. Gage reading is continuous and unaffected by switch operation, even during loss of electrical power. Choose from full scale pressure ranges from a low 0-.25 in (0-6 mm) w.c. up to 30 psi (21 bar).

The safety construction consists of a stainless steel “solid-front” safety cell placed behind the scale, which welding to socket gives to instrument an exceptional strength. Whenever, due to leaks, an internal pressure is created or the elastic element is broken the safety cell protects the front and sides, meanwhile the blow out back is released from the case. They are designed for use in chemical, petrochemical, conventional power plants. The dampened movement make them particularly suitable in presence of high vibrations and pulsating pressure.

These instruments are manufactured to monitor the electrical operations on hermetically sealed systems containing Sulphur Hexafluoride gas (SF6). The indication and the electrical operations are calibrated to the gas density (isochore) according to the relation pressure-temperature. The M5 model is suitable for indoor installation while the M6 model has been designed for the outdoor installation as well. The oil filled executions are particularly suitable for installation when vibrations are apparent.
